Greyhounds of Shamrock Looking for Forever Homes
Name: Ricky
Race Name: R&L’s Ricky
Gender: Male
Age: May 3, 1998
Weight: 66 pounds (underweight, but gaining)
Color: Fawn
Cats: Yes
Ricky was originally adopted through Homes for Greyhounds which is now closed. He was given to our program along with his housemate Frances. He has been in a home for about 5 years. His condition when we received him was shocking. Not only is he under his race weight,
his teeth were deplorable. He also has Pannus (an eye condition) that his former adopters did not treat. After a much needed dental, a trip to the ophthalmologist and a proper diet, Ricky has improved in a very short time. Ricky would do best in a quiet home. This beautiful boy deserves a loving family to call his own.

He does fine with kids, but because he is a bit shy probably not toddlers. Chocolate would do best in a home with another dog and does need a fenced in yard. He does not need a crate. He is ready for a loving family to call his own!

Racing Name: DC’s Yogi Bear
Gender: Male
Age: June 11, 2003
Color/Weight: Brindle; 77 pounds
Cats: No
Kids: Older children
Location: Foster home
Origin: Tennessee
Yogi came to us from a Nashville group that recently closed. He had been in their prison program and was tormented by a night guard when he whined in his crate. Because of this traumatic experience, Yogi cannot be crated. Yogi is not good with small dogs or cats. He would be fine with older children. Yogi would do well as an only dog as long as it was a home where he can get a lot of attention. He would also do best in a home with a fenced in yard as he enjoys his daily romps. This boy deserves a very loving forever home!

Jeff was returned to our program last week due to no fault of his own. His family got divorced and the parent that kept him was unable to find housing that would allow a large dog. Jeff joined the Shamrock family on Halloween 2003. We received a call that morning from Metro Animal Services in Louisville. They said he had turned in as a stray and his hold time was up. I went out that morning and retrieved him. He does have something other than Greyhound in him, but he is mostly Greyhound. His tail is docked and it was like that when we got him. He is a great dog and would work well in most homes. Jeff is cat safe, small dog safe and great with kids. He would do best with a canine playmate and a fenced in yard. This very handsome boy will make an exceptional companion. He is on the lookout for his forever couch!
