![]() Just Arrived! Okie at Lunken Airport, Cincinnati, Ohio - Eager to learn about his brand new world. Okie is just one of hundreds of greyhounds who need homes. |
Mike and I are back in Sarasota- still excited about the fantastic flight! It
is the most wonderful feeling knowing these guys are heading for the good life in
loving new homes!
The flight couldn't have been better!!! At the beginning, Esther was breathing heavily
as we headed into the sky. I think she was both hot and nervous. Once we reached
altitude, I climbed into the back and took the muzzles off and loosened her seat belt.
The temperature at that altitude was about 60 degrees, and she calmed nicely. All the
dogs then settled and rested. Bourbon decided to stretch out. They all slept except
Okie. He wanted to take it all in. Mike and I were eating pretzels- suddenly a white
nose (Okie) popped up between us. Many times Okie would pop his head up front- he loved
to have his ears scratched, and I think he wanted his turn to fly too! Ultimately,
Okie re-arranged the furniture, moving his pillow around until he finally covered his
nose and slept. It was wonderful to see Archie (Nike) again, and to see how happy he
looked with his new family. I do think he recognized Triple B. Thank you both for this
GREYT adventure. Please do keep me updated as these lucky dogs transition to their new
lives. We look forward to doing this again soon!!
